Sounds a lot like shazam but for people that don't have / want to download an application on the iphone. A cool twist is that this also works for commercials as well; meaning if I heard about something I wanted to buy I could 'nabbit' and it would be stored for me to deal with when I get home.
The thing I don't like about this app (which I have admittedly not used) is that it claims "Nabbit does not charge a fee for our service. You will only be charged if you decide to purchase a song or product that you Nabb." So... it's not free? Very confusing.
I also watched the video to use the product and it only works for radio stations. So unlike Shazam you are out of luck if you just randomly hear the song somewhere because for Nabbit to work you need to know the station.
Overall it's just not a good enough contender against Shazam but it does let others who don't have an iPhone the opportunity to get sort of the same thing.
Someone put up the money for this. let's make it happen people.

A quick rundown I immediately notice that they are missing clear channels application "iheartradio" but they seemed to hit the big contenders.
And of course I'd be on the lookout for when Lala.com releases their application. That's going to be a big one since it's letting you access your own library from anywhere. That might blow the rest of them away.
Similar to what I'm doing... but hopefully one day I will get around to reviewing all of the ones I link to as well. Right now there has been so many I can't seem to keep up.
100+ Music Links to play around with
I did notice they didn't include one of my fav video sites - http://www.blogotheque.net/ "A Take Away Show." Personally my favorite music sites are the ones that seem to bring something new to the table, not rehashing the same thing you can find everywhere else.
You might be aware of my love/hate relationship with Red Rocks.. this show line up has awesome potential but for Red Rocks? I don't know why they aren't playing The Fillmore. I'd probably down for that but at Red Rocks I'm a bit iffy.

Last.fm / CBS hands over listening info to RIAA
So then. wow. I have totally gone to bat for last.fm more times than I can count and you know what? Technically they haven't done anything wrong. But I feel like if they weren't owned by a major corporation they wouldn't have given up the info.
Of course right now this is all rumor and hearsay but it brings to light the obvious question that we are openly giving away information about ourselves that has the potential to hurt us. Do we give that up in favor of gaining something we find useful? Thoughts?
Leonard Cohen on Tour!! If you don't know who he is but you're into the indie, emo, alternative, acoustic, folk, singer-songwriter scene you need to see him because chances are their music stems from his work. Hell I'm even thinking I have to go and I hate Red Rocks.

It could be better, but it could be worse.
Stereofame is a social music game that brings fans and artists together and empowers artists and listeners to determine what's hot by creating virtual record labels.
The object of the game is to get as many points as you can so you can cash them in on great rewards. Additionally, artists are able to get the recognition they deserve for great songs through listener voting. Listeners are able to get the recognition they deserve by discovering great talent. It's all about music, fame, and the game!
Interesting way to get people to listen to new music; definitely something to check out.
