tempting...i guess we'll see when local lineups are announced.
It seems like Bayside has done nothing but tour since the release of their last album. I know that I personally saw them 4 times in the past year and I didn't even go to all of the tours that they were on. That's some crazy work ethic.
What's even crazier is that it looks like they're only going to take 2 months off to record their new album before they go back on tour on October 7th.
Insanity.
Even still I'm pretty excited since Bayside puts out unbelievably amazing music and a show that does not dissapoint.
this is not according to release dates and it isn't any sort of review; it is just me thinking about my favorite things i experienced this year:
top 5 movies i saw:
1. Stardust
2. Harry Potter and The Order of the Pheonix
3. Transformers
4. I Am Legend
5. The Number 23
top 5 books i read:

2. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
3. American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis

top 5 cds i heard for the first time:
1. Anathallo's Floating World
2. Bayside's The Walking Wounded
3. Lily Allen's Alright, Still
4. Street To Nowhere's Charmingly Awkward
5. The Arcade Fire's Neon Bible
top 5 concerts i went to:
(for sanity sake i will only choose 1 Brand New one)
1. Brand New with Anathallo at Burton Cummings Theater in Winnipeg
2. mewithoutYou with Piebald, The Snake the Cross the Crown and Manchester Orchestra at Marquis Theater in Denver

for future reference because i'm going to want to look through all of them.
there are moments when i'd love to start a music site. but i feel i have nothing new to contribute to that area so i'll leave it to someone that is far more dedicated and can bring something new to it. like daytrotter. daytrotter had a unique idea and followed through. now sadly i only go there for that one reason but it's one more reason then other places.
possibly soon i shall have to do an update like seans "my year in music" or something.
in the meantime you can see that i've been a busy concert bee. i bought a new camera and have been having a lot of fun. sadly i've been neglecting the recaps on said fun. but PICTURES LIVE ON!
Show us a photo that requires an explanation.
first off this is taken on my cell phone. but the reason this requires explanation is that the majority of people don't know what they are looking at till i tell them. do you?
...
this is a picture of the lead singer of bayside but what makes it so unidentifiable is that he's directly above me. In this moment Anthony had decided to walk out into the ocean of people while singing and this is the picture I took a couple seconds before he stepped on me as well.
WEIRD. warped tour hasn't announced a venue for colorado... WEIRD
lineup is as follows, bands i want to see bolded. seen before in italics. underlined may count as 2... i think i need 10 to qualify me to even CONSIDER going.

yeeahhh. so unless my cousin can talk me into it then i think i won't go. although FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND!!!
FIrst off I am SO BEHIND on my concert updates. like massively horribly. ah well.
The funny thing about the Anberlin concert was that there was quite possibly more people there to see Bayside then Anberlin. I think that they might have co-headlined; I've never been one to write down setlists or time the length of each bands sets so I'm not quiet sure on that one. But Anberlin did have an encore and Bayside didn't...so I guess it's safe to assume.
So as soon as they started setting up for Bayside I had to decide what my plan was. I'm getting old. I know this. For one I pause now before going to the pit when before that would be the PLACE TO BE for me. So with a small hesitation and a glance at my friend I was like "I'm going in."
I'm so happy I did. I got thrown around and bruised up but every bit of it was worth it for the energy and interaction with Bayside. They came on and did mostly old songs and a good number of new songs. They knew when to send the pit into a frenzy and when to do an acoustic song to let us rest. Bayside's lead singer Anthony talked a bit about how Colorado is special to them (it was just after a show in ?Boulder? that they lost their drummer) and sometimes I always wonder if that makes them a bit more somber at our shows. I think now that it's the opposite. Anthony at one point got so into it he started trying to walk on top of the mosh pit. My pictures are taken right before when he was basically over me. What I loved the most was how the crowd totally tried to support his feet as he walked. It was amazing.
Before the main act came out this charity for teenage depression came out and talked a bit. "To Write Love on Her Arms." They set up some merch and I ended up donating 5 dollars for the cause.
Anberlin came out and honestly I only know them as one of my friends favorite bands. I know some of their songs, but not all. They were really good and I stayed in the pit till I could take it no longer (after about 5 songs). And joined my friend back up at the bar. Anberlin was pretty awesome and I knew that I would be buying the cd afterwards.
Alot of the band members were hanging out at the merch after the shows (most during as well). I got all the guys of jonezetta to sign a poster. Meg and Dia were wandering around (alas I was to far away to recognize other members). Anthony was hanging out and I got him to sign my cd as well. He seemed to be having fun but wasn't very approachable (I don't like interrupting people to much). He did goof around with me a bit and it made me a happy camper overall.
Audio: Share a great duet.
hmmm. when i think duets i naturally think of jazz. off the top of my head I can say that the whole Tony Bennett CD is pretty awesome.
I went to a tony bennett concert a while back and while it was more of a viewing experience I still enjoyed myself. Diana Krall opened.
As for what I have on my computer right now? mmmmm
Bayside's Megan featuring Josh Caterer. Is that a duet?? heh.
Enjoy.
first off everyone should know that one of my second fav bands in all the world is bayside. with that said?
went to another local show last week but didn't take pics cause i had to chill with my bff who is anti concerts..well not ANTI but doesn't really care to going to a local show that he's never heard of. Happily he enjoyed himself, sadly no pictures.
Sooo... i'm attempting to keep up with everything but it's hard when you give up your real life in favor of an RP.
yeah.
So I went to the Brand New concert last week. I have very few pictures and they are stuck on my computer not able to be uploaded at the moment.
Instead I bring you pictures from another concert of happiness that was the Bayside concert. Yay!
the sleeping opened and they were GREAT. I was like. WOW. I only knew 2 songs from commercials on FUSE but that's all you need to get a headpat right? apparently.
The I Am The Avalanche came out and rocked it as well. Really they are pretty awesome, and this time I knew all the words so I got to scream and throw out my voice with the best of them.
And Bayside of course! Actually Halifax played as well but...i don't really care for them? *ducks* Anyway Bayside is a CULT and you should all worship them.
More concerts? Yes please! I'm going to Warped tour this Sunday and hopefully I'll finally get to see Armor for Sleep.
