You might be aware of my love/hate relationship with Red Rocks.. this show line up has awesome potential but for Red Rocks? I don't know why they aren't playing The Fillmore. I'd probably down for that but at Red Rocks I'm a bit iffy.

A short story to share with you since the title pretty much says it all. The Ting Ting's are coming to a small venue here in Denver pretty soon. If I were to go online and buy these $20 tickets they add an extra $8.50. Gee thanks guys. If I go to the venue without cash I get charged an extra $2. If I pay cash it's just the straight $20.
Moral of the story? Go buy your tickets at the venues if you can. Even attempt to call the venue and do it that way. In the end you're just going to have to decide if those damn fees (which are definitely going to start getting higher) are worth it.

And it looks like I'm going to be saving me some money since this lineup doesn't tempt me at all. Now don't get me wrong there are some great artists on this bill, but there is nothing worth road tripping and then camping out in TN for 3 days for. I will surely see these bands in my hometown soon enough, where they play a small venue and are possibly headlining.

UPDATE: 04/27/08 at the pepsi center for me. laaammmeeeeee. i loathe arena tours.
http://www.heynielsen.com/blog/2007/11/musicblogcontest.html
for future reference because i'm going to want to look through all of them.
there are moments when i'd love to start a music site. but i feel i have nothing new to contribute to that area so i'll leave it to someone that is far more dedicated and can bring something new to it. like daytrotter. daytrotter had a unique idea and followed through. now sadly i only go there for that one reason but it's one more reason then other places.
possibly soon i shall have to do an update like seans "my year in music" or something.
in the meantime you can see that i've been a busy concert bee. i bought a new camera and have been having a lot of fun. sadly i've been neglecting the recaps on said fun. but PICTURES LIVE ON!
not often do bands that i actually know come find me on myspace and request to add me as a friend. it kind of makes my day. therefore i make a post about them and spread the love.
Annuals are awesome. and look! i love it when bands have a real website. (means they aren't giving into the myspace too completely. ie not a slacker). Oh hey look as i explore, THEY HAVE A DAYTROTTER SESSION.
Daytrotter is a secret obsession of mine - in which i mean that i never have time to go there but whenever i do i find something completely cool.
I personally am going to be seeing them when they come through with Manchester Orchestra (whom, i'm not sure if you caught this but, I LOVE)
